Expert Answers about Kia Work Lights

  • Troubleshooting Clearance Lights on Trailer that Work but No Rear Running Lights
  • The marker light circuit is the same as the running light circuit. So if you have clearance/marker lights that are working currently but the running lights of the taillights at the rear of your vehicle aren't currently working then that would indicate that the running light circuit of the trailer is somehow making it to your clearance lights but not to the rear taillights. This is most likely due to a cut wire so I would recommend checking the condition of the circuit from the clearance...

  • Troubleshooting Brake Lights Not Working on Tow Vehicle
  • Sounds like you have a blown third brake light fuse on your tow vehicle if you can get all of the other functions to work but not the brake lights. Check out the fuse box of the vehicle and replace that fuse and you should see the lights work like they should.

  • Recommendation for Utility/Work Lights Installed in Toolbox to Light Rear of Truck
  • I have several lighting options for you, but a trailer reverse light, like # BUL52CB that you mentioned, is not going to provide you with the light you are looking for. To provide you with light at least 8 feet away, I recommend going with a utility/work light. For mounting flush inside the toolbox as you mentioned, the best option will be the Vision X LED Light Strip # XIL-SL12. This light has an effective lumen output of 300 lumens and is 12 inches long x 1 inch wide x 1/2 inch deep....

  • Troubleshooting Trailer that Work Differently When Headlights are on and Off
  • Sounds like a ground issue. Anytime we see lights not working, or working strangely and the headlights are a variable for when they work or not the issue is always an insufficient ground. If you can run an additional ground wire from the lights back to the main ground wire of the trailer harness this will fix the issue you described.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring that Left Blinker Stops Working When Brake Lights are On
  • Sounds like a weak ground on the trailer lights. Typically when there is a weak ground there will be bizarre trailer light behavior when the brake lights are activated since they draw quite a bit of amperage. I attached a couple help articles on wiring troubleshooting for you to check out as well.

  • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit on One Side of Trailer Not Working
  • There has to be damage to the running light circuit that runs to the right hand side of your trailer since the left hand side is working fine currently. Inspect the wiring of this circuit starting at the trailer connector and look for obvious signs of damage like cut or exposed wire and fix as needed. I attached a couple help articles on trailer wiring for you to check out as well.

  • Troubleshooting Tow Bar Lighting that Doesn't work When Running Light Is Turned On
  • Typically when a lighting functions stops working when the headlights or running lights come on, and the circuit is active at the tow vehicle connector the issue is an insufficient ground. What happens is when you turn on the headlights of a vehicle you end up putting quite a bit more amperage on the lighting and charging systems due to the draw of all of the light bulbs. So if there's a weak ground anywhere it's going to show up in this situation. So what I would recommend is try improving...

  • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit Not Working On Right Side of Trailer
  • The blinker/brake lights are carried on one circuit and the running lights are on a totally different one. Since the stop/turn circuits seem to work on the left side but the running lights on that side do not you need to check the wiring of the running light circuit that runs to that side of the trailer and fix as needed. I attached a diagram of how a trailer is normally wired as well as a help article that covers troubleshooting trailer wiring as well.

  • What Circuits Does Trailer Clearance Light with a Single Black and White Wire Carry
  • Typically a trailer taillight that has two wires which one of is black and the other white is a single function light like on the part # AL82AB. The black wire is the power circuit and the white wire is the ground circuit. There won't be a way to get this light to work as both a stop/turn circuit and a running light circuit. You'd most likely want to run the running light circuit to these lights instead as they sound like they are clearance lights.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Running Light Circuit Not Functioning
  • Try connecting a known working 12 volt power source to the brown wires of the Blazer LED Trailer Tail Light # C7493RTM that you referenced. This is the running light circuit. If the light does not come on then the assembly is the problem but if it does then you know it's the wiring that runs to the assemblies. You should also verify that the white wire is connected to a solid ground too as that can sometimes cause lights not to work.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Running Lights Stop Working
  • Sounds like an intermittent connection to the running light circuit on the trailer wiring harness or the converter box is bad. I'd recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the circuit that feeds the running light wire on the converter box as well to see if you see the same blinking. If so, then the box is fine and it's most likely a connection issue. If the circuit is fine there then the converter box has shorted out. Before you replace it you will want to inspect...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring that Doesnt Work Consistently When Running Lights are On
  • Try improving the connection of the main ground wire of the trailer wiring harness. Make sure it is attached to a clean metal surface. Or you can run all of the trailer wires back to the main ground. This is actually the ideal solution. But you can also check the current grounds for the lights to make sure they are making a solid connection to a clean metal surface. What you described is the classic insufficient ground scenario so finding a way to improve the grounds will fix the problem....

  • Recommended Round LED White Work Light With Pedestal Mount
  • I may have an option that will work for you, but unfortunately we do not have a dual-face LED light like the # STL52ARB you mentioned that has white work light. Instead you would be able to use the Opti-Brite LED Work Light # TLL45FB but it only faces one direction so you would need two to have the same effect. I included a video of the # TLL45FB for you to take a look at.

  • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit on 2015 Ford F-150 4-Way Not Working
  • Check the fuses under the hood of your 2015 Ford F-150. Sounds like the trailer running light circuit has blown. Or if the running lights on the truck stopped working check the truck running light circuit as well.

  • Utility Light Recommendation for Inside of a Enclosed Trailer to Light Up a Work Bench Area
  • The Opti-Brite LED Interior Light # ILL08COB that you referenced would make an excellent choice for interior lighting for your motorcycle trailer. This thing puts out 1400 Lumen so it would provide you with quite a bit of lighting for working on your motorcycle. Check out the review video I attached.

  • LED Flood Light Recommendation for Lighting Ramp at Rear of Trailer
  • For a pedestal mount LED light that would work great on your trailer to light up the ramp I would recommend the Opti-Brite LED Work Light part # TLL50FB. I attached an install video for you to check that shows the light being used in a very similar way on a trailer. Or for a much brighter light with and even wider light pattern the part # XIL-UF32. This will be about twice as bright and will produce a much brighter light pattern.

  • Recommended Under Body Work Light for Wheels/Tire on Dump/Utility Trailer
  • It sounds like you are looking for more of a work light rather than a traditional backup/reverse light. The backup/reverse light will project the beam straight out whereas a work light will project the beam to cover a larger area. I can't really make a specific recommendation for said light as none are really designed to be installed on a trailer pointed down at the wheels but I have attached for you a list of our entire work light selection which I feel would be better suited for your...

  • Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Stopped Working on 2004 Chevy Silverado with Brake Pedal
  • It sounds like you have a bad third brake light (CHMSL), fuse and because of that your brake controller has stopped working. Replacing the fuse should fix the problem and get your controller back going. This fuse is very easy to blow on Chevy trucks of the same generation as your 2004 model.

  • Troubleshooting New Trailer Lighting that Doesnt Light Up
  • Have you tested the wiring leading to those lights with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to verify that there is voltage running to them when they should be active? If there isn't voltage there then the issue is that circuit has maybe shorted out leading to it. If there is voltage and the light still isn't working then it's a ground issue for the light. It's possible the lights ground through the mounting hardware so verify that they are connected to a clean mounting surface. Or you...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Lights that Don't Work When Headlights are On
  • It sounds like there is too much amperage being drawn on your trailer when the headlights are on and it is too much for the trailer so everything shuts off. This could be because of a bad ground somewhere. First thing I would do is check the grounds on the trailer for any loose wiring and corrosion and fix as necessary. If the grounds are good you might need to convert your trailer lights to LED lights so as to minimize the draw on the trailer light circuits. LED lights draw a fraction...
